Named after Bioy Casares, Collection Morel is a curatorial program on the notions of space, the imaginary and affects opened by Marie-Pierre Bonniol in 2011, and taking interest in places, epiphanies of spaces but also Bachelor machines, fictional collections, imaginary countries and libraries, islands, museums of obsessions … With several proposals including some for MUDAM and Lieu unique, Collection Morel has had the chance to present the works of Marcel Duchamp, Michel Carrouges, Pierre Bastien, Glen Baxter, KP Brehmer, and is developing a library in the long term. A European music agency founded in 2007, celebrating its 10 year anniversary in 2017, Julie Tippex is based in Paris, London and Berlin. Collaborating with artists such as Jeff Mills, Lee Ranaldo, Silver Apples, Faust, Nots, Young Marble Giants, The Chap, Ghédalia Tazartès and many others, Julie Tippex is also behind some special programs and has collaborated through the years with Palais de Tokyo, Le Louvre, Atonal and more recently with Le 104 in Paris on special projects. Organised as a collective, fond of twisted, raw, out-of-norm musics, Julie Tippex believes in art as a living culture, and in the circulation of ideas and forms of creativity. Built in 1924, the elegant Cinema Palace Theater in St Gallen became in 2006 the Palace, a music venue also open to talks, performances, nights and various curious programs, after decades of use as a cinema. Becoming soon a well-known place for new musics, and attracting audiences from all over Switzerland and abroad, past highlights have included, among many others, shows of Animal Collective, Pere Ubu, Merzbow, The Books and Daniel Johnston. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Palace opened “Gastrecht”, a special program with guest curators and a title emphasizing the joy of invitation, encounters and exchange.
